My City My Health is a nonprofit health education, health promotion, and health awareness organization that works in community, listens to real people, and turns what we learn into insight that can help move care forward.
My City My Health is a community-rooted nonprofit built on one simple belief: you cannot improve community health without listening to the community.
We partner with people, organizations, and local leaders to raise awareness, share health education, gather stories, and create community-centered insight that can help inform better care. We do that through newsletters, podcasts, conferences, content, and direct connection with the people closest to the work.
We are not just sharing information. We are learning from the community in real time and helping turn that knowledge into action.
My City My Health is a nonprofit organization focused on health education, health promotion, and health awareness. Our work brings together community voice, lived experience, storytelling, and trusted partnerships to help people better understand what health looks like in real life.
We show up in the places where real conversations are already happening. We listen. We document. We share. We connect the dots.
That means the work is bigger than content. Bigger than events. Bigger than awareness campaigns.
We use what we learn from the community to help surface real needs, real barriers, real solutions, and real opportunities to improve how communities are cared for.
A community health nonprofit that also helps generate insight.
At My City My Health, we believe some of the most useful data does not start in a spreadsheet. It starts with people.
It starts with stories from the community.
It starts with what people are carrying, what they are facing, what they are asking for, and what they need more of.
Through our partnerships, newsletters, podcasts, conferences, and direct community presence, we gather real-life insight that helps paint a fuller picture of community health. That insight can help inform how organizations, advocates, and leaders think about care, outreach, education, and support.
We are building a model that treats community voice as a real source of knowledge.
Because better care starts with better understanding.
Our mission is just getting started. We exist to improve community health through awareness, education, storytelling, and insight gathered from the people and communities we serve.
vision
Move the City Forward.
For us, Move the City Forward is bigger than one place. It is not just about Des Moines. It is a vision for what becomes possible when communities are informed, connected, equipped, and seen.
It is about helping people and organizations push community health forward in their own cities, neighborhoods, and spaces.
More than a slogan
Move the City Forward is the vision behind our organization. It is also the name of our merch.
We want it to stand for the people doing the work every day. The health educators. The community advocates. The social workers. The outreach teams. The community health workers. The leaders building trust where trust has to be earned.
Our goal is to make Move the City Forward something people wear with pride.
Not just as merch.
As identity.
As purpose.
As a statement that says: I care about my community, and I’m doing my part to push it forward.
In time, we will also build a brand ambassador community that highlights people who are moving the city forward through their own work.
